Five Good Things for People Who Love Candles

I love to light candles when I’m writing or praying or just sitting and staring at the wall. I also keep several in my retreat space for my retreat clients to use. And I travel with candles because they help me feel more connected to unfamiliar places.

Here are five of my favorite candle-ish items that I’ve been enjoying recently. Feel free to use this as inspiration for any upcoming gift-giving needs you may have!

One of My Favorite Candle Holders
The block candle holders in the photo above from OUTPOSTLOVE are fantastic. They are versatile, durable, and different. I look forward to using these and the ones that hold tea lights them in various settings. OUTPOSTLOVE also carries great handmade charcuterie boards!

One Delicious Local Candle

The Rosa candle will make you fall in love with the rose scent. Promise. The Rosa candles are made here in Birmingham by Village Apothecary Candles, and they have several other options that are updated pretty regularly. I’ve met the owner of Village Apothecary, and she’s a lovely human. You can feel good about supporting this small business.

One Candle from Thistle Farms
I think Tim bought this at Whole Foods, but you can purchase it from the Thistle Farms website. I love the Eucalyptus Mint scent. I don’t know much about Thistle Farms, but they seem to be doing really good work.

One Thing That Will Secure Your Tapers
These wax candle adapters are a must-have. You add a bit to the bottom of your taper candle holder and it secures everything. They’re wonderful during Advent season so buy some now while you aren’t worried about all of the other holiday things. You can google to find some near you or online.

One Versatile Candelabra
I use this thing all of the time. I’ve even used it for my Advent candles. You can find one like this on Etsy. They have several styles that I’m currently lusting over. Embrace the candelabra. You will be glad you did.

Alright. That’s all for now. I’d love to hear about your favorite candles and candle-ish items. Please share. And many thanks to Becky McCoy for this IG post that made me think a bit about my favorite candle things.
